The BAOFENG DM-1701 is a dual-band handheld two-way radio supporting both DMR digital and analog FM operation. It features true dual time slot (DMO) capability, allowing two independent conversations on a single frequency without a repeater — making it well suited for team coordination on job sites, outdoor activities, and emergency preparedness. It covers VHF (136–174 MHz) and UHF (400–470 MHz) bands with a 5W output and stores up to 3000 channels and contacts. The radio includes a 2200 mAh battery for extended operation and a 1.77-inch colour TFT display for clear channel navigation and contact management. SMS text messaging is supported, and the unit ships with a free programming cable for fast codeplug setup via CPS bulk editing. Note that this radio is not water resistant.
